Urban- Regional planners, Dentists, and Dental Specialists are removed from the updated Skilled Occupation List (SOL) as of 1 July 2015. Panel-beaters and Cabinet-makers have been added. The number of application invitations for Accountants may be reduced for the new Immigration year (July 2015 to June 2016).

 

The SOL was updated via legislative instrument IMMI 15/092, taking effect 1 July 2015. The Minister’s joint press statement said that “skilled migrants complement locally trained and skilled workers, help to create new jobs and contribute to the communities in which they live and work. The Government’s $6 billion annual investment in vocational education and training is also supporting our training system to offer a pipeline of local talent to help address skills shortages.”
